These kings have (nearly) all their tomb in Abydos. One also found in Saqqara big mastabas delivering some seals to the names of these thinites kings. But the discovery that the tombs of Abydos were a lot more complexes let to think that the kings were buried indeed in Abydos. Besides, several mastabas of Saqqara could be allocated to a same king: one now thinks that these mastabas were tombs of linked high commissioners to royalty. From this dynasty, one sees to appear the royal titulature.

King Aha

The first king of this dynasty is Aha (toward 3100 before our time). The name of Meni appears on a label found in Nagada as name of the Two Goddess Nebties. On the lists of Abydos, his name in one cartridge would be Teti. One knows that in the original documents of the first two dynasties, one never uses a cartridge (Vercoutter, 1992). The documents allocate him some expeditions against the Nubienses and the Lybienses. He held the commercial reports with the South Levant. The documents mention the manufacture under his reign of representations of the god Khenti-Amentiu jackal.

The existence of human sacrifices has been put through the interpretation of a scene that one recovers on several documents found in Abydos: two figures, knelt and placed on the same plan, facing each other, one pushing a knife in the body of the other. Behind this group, a figurestands up, carrying a stick (the King?). (BMR in "Le sacrifice humain..", 2005). Above this scene  one can see  by the plants of Lower and Upper Egypt and the sign to receive.  This scene creates a relation between the union of the Double Country and the human sacrifice. It will be found later on labels of other kings. The restart of the excavations of his tomb and notably of the subsidiary tombs, by the German archaeologists put on the day human bones belonging for most to young men died to the surroundings of 20 years, what drives to think that they have been sacrificed.
