On theexternal west wall, were represented the
episodes of the
battle of Qadesh, one of the big events of the reign of Ramesses
II. It remains only the base. If you are interested
by this battle, it is better to
refer to the Ramesseum or to the
temple of Louxor where the
scenes are again practically complete. This battle opposed, in the year 5 of the reign of Ramesses II, the Pharaoh's army against
the Hittites for the control of the region that spread between the two
countries. It was nor a victory
nor a defeat, but Ramesses II used
it to glorify his action. Some years later, the
two countries concluded a treaty
